PRIMARY SECTION FOOD AND NUTRITION ACTIVITY-GRADE 4

The Staple Food Model Making Activity was conducted for grade 4 students as part of their EVS curriculum. Students were introduced to the concept of staple food, i.e. the main food people eat daily based on regional availability and culture. Students were asked to make models of staple food. They made mini plates or thalis showing food combinations like rice with dal, roti with vegetables, etc. All students actively participated and displayed excellent creativity. Teachers guided them in identifying the staple food of their region and helped them represent it artistically. Through this activity, students learned: -What staple foods are and why they differ from region to region. -The importance of a balanced diet. -Cultural diversity in food habits. -Hands-on creativity using common materials. The Staple Food Model Making Activity was a fun, educational, and interactive session. It helped students connect their classroom learning with real-life experiences.
