Mount Carmel School celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The event commenced with a warm welcome by the anchors, who greeted the gathering and highlighted the significance of the day — remembering the courage and sacrifices of our freedom fighters and reflecting on our journey as a nation. The program began with the introduction and felicitation of dignitaries, including the school management, principal, vice principals, priests, staff, alumni, and the chief guest of honour, Mrunayee Sawant, the school topper. The dignitaries were escorted to the stage by the head boy, Master Harshit Poojary. Following this, the Flag Hoisting Ceremony was conducted with due respect and solemnity, accompanied by the national song. The dignitaries and students saluted the national flag, symbolizing unity and pride. The cultural program began with a vibrant dance performance by the school dance team, which was appreciated by all present. This was followed by speeches from selected students, who shared their thoughts on the significance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the martyrs of the nation. The anchors also quoted inspiring words, emphasizing that while individuals may perish, their ideas and ideals live on. The chief guest addressed the gathering, sharing motivational insights and encouraging students to strive for excellence. This was followed by the felicitation of students with certificates of appreciation for their achievements. Teachers Leena and Jhansi took the lead in distributing the awards. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration.
