PRIMARY SECTION RAKHI MAKING COMPETITION

The Rakhi Making Competition for students of Std. I to IV was held on 11th August 2025, during the 1st and 2nd periods. The event was originally scheduled for 8th August 2025, but was postponed owing to a holiday on account of Narali Poornima. The theme for the competition was Eco-friendly Rakhi, encouraging children to showcase their creativity using natural and sustainable materials. Participation was made compulsory for all students, ensuring enthusiastic involvement across all divisions. Students came prepared with decorative materials brought from home, such as flowers, pulses, grains, leaves, nut shells, ribbons, and glue. They were instructed to avoid scissors by bringing pre-cut materials. Each rakhi had to be crafted in proportion to the wrist and include a dori for tying. The classrooms were filled with excitement as children set to work with great enthusiasm. Teachers guided and observed the process, monitoring the choice of materials, creativity, and presentation. The rakhis, once completed, were beautifully displayed in the classrooms. Teachers also explained the significance of Raksha Bandhan, highlighting the sacred bond of love and protection between brothers and sisters. The winners were selected on the basis of creativity, material used, overall presentation, and effort put in. Three winners from each division were announced on the same day through the school app. Photographs of the event were also taken to capture the joyful moments. The competition not only celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan but also instilled in students the values of sustainability, creativity, and cultural tradition.
