PRE-PRIMARY SECTION NO-BAG DAY AND RAKHI MAKING COMPETITION

No Bag Day was celebrated for the first time in Mount Carmel School on 28th, 29th, and 30th July 2025. A Rakhi Making Competition was also conducted on the same days, respectively, for all the Pre-Primary sections during school hours. No Bag Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement. Children came dressed in casual clothes on these days. The purpose of this special celebration was to provide the little learners with a break from their routine of carrying school bags and to offer them a fun and engaging learning experience through play and activities. The day was thoughtfully planned to promote joyful learning through games, storytelling, music, and dance. For the Rakhi Making Competition, children brought materials such as bindis, decorative articles, etc. Worksheets were provided by the school for Nursery and Junior KG students. Senior KG children brought the required materials from home and made their rakhis in school. The little ones participated with great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed the activity. Senior KG students presented beautifully handmade rakhis, displaying their unique creativity. The best three worksheets from each class in Nursery and Junior KG, and the best three rakhis from each class in Senior KG were selected and awarded certificates by Fr. Pawan Saldanha. The No Bag Day turned out to be a delightful experience that helped foster creativity and social skills among the students, bringing a smile to every child’s face. The event successfully demonstrated that learning can be fun and meaningful even without books and bags.
